The Looking Glass Blog
Meet James
Like his workmates and fellow bloggers Dale and Brian, James Lopez loves to meet guests of the Hotel Murano and get them pointed in the right direction to enjoy the sights of Tacoma. The Looking Glass is his opportunity to bring those insights to a wider audience. Here are a few details about him:
Q: What is your position at Hotel Murano?
A: Front Desk Agent
Q: How long have you been at Hotel Murano?
A: Since June, 2007.
Q: What is your favorite part about work?
A: Story time with a couple of regulars who come in every week and share hilarious stories from drinking beer in the Hofbrau Haus and sleeping on park benches to hockey.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
A: I enjoy watching soccer, Chef Anthony Bourdain and drinking pints.
Q: What are some of your favorite restaurants, bars, attractions, shopping?
A: Sea Grill has the best happy hour in town with $2.50 pints and $5 hamburgers with prosciuto and Gorgonzola. Mad Hat Tea shop is a great place to relax and listen to music and meet people and read. And then there’s the Tacoma Art Museum, of course.
Q: What kind of music do you like?
A: Jazz, Neil Young, The Band. Reggae… Pretty much everything except country and rap.
Q: Are you married or single?
A: single.
Q: Do you have any pets?
A: No.
Q: Do you have any long term goals or dreams?
A: I’d like to travel to Antarctica. Another dream is to one day take the Trans-Siberian railroad. After that I’d like to golf across Mongolia. Did you know you can do such a thing?
