New Chinese Restaurant is the Real Deal

Posted by Dale on October 4th, 2007

…Or so I’ve heard. Hong Sheng Fung (translation: The Pot Sticker) at 8302 South Tacoma Way (which is technically Lakewood) proves that Chinese food is so much more than Chop Suey and Egg Foo Yung. Not that I’m against such comfort foods: I just expect more from a nation of one billion people. And so, although I haven’t yet been there myself, the word on the street is that Hong Sheng Fung delivers an absolutely amazing, worth-the-drive culinary experience. With menu items that include boiled pigs’ feet and jellyfish, you may not want to ask what it is you’re eating. Just smile and wave the server over for second helpings.

Children’s Museum Stretches Museum Vision with Yoga Exhibit and More

Posted by Dale on October 2nd, 2007

The recently made-over Children’s Museum of Tacoma is doing its part to help kids understand themselves and live a healthier, active life. So they’ve added a yoga studio, a Learning Lounge with an “Emotions Matter” feature that helps kids get in touch with their feelings and a Smart Moves with Food and Fitness exhibit that teaches kids tips on eating and exercise. Good stuff. Maybe I’ll take the grandson on down….
